Over the past semester, I had the opportunity to complete my first ever internship at We Are Key. As a Communication Science student with an interest in marketing, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. Working at We Are Key provided the perfect opportunity to uncover the complexities of the marketing world, revealing aspects that aren’t often discussed. Plus, working in a small company allowed me to get an idea into various other departments too, which is always a valuable bonus at this stage in our careers.
As a marketing intern, my primary responsibility was managing their LinkedIn page to maximize visibility. So, an average day in my life included researching hot hospitality topics to discuss, and writing articles about them to be posted. To show you a glimpse of my experience and what I learned, I’d like to share the entry I posted after attending an incredible work event, Mews Unfold.
Digital Transformation and Smart Hotels: Mews Unfold
We Are Key had the honor of attending the @Mews Unfold Event this year, where we have some exciting news to share! Firstly, we’d like to thank @Matthijs Welle, @Richard Valtr, and everyone behind the scenes for organizing such an incredible event. Secondly, ever since we became official Mews Deployment Partners, we’ve seen huge improvements in our efficiency, revenue, and #guestsatisfaction.
Nevertheless, #Mews continues to impress us! On Wednesday, we learned that the new Mews update will be almost twice as fast, featuring:
1) Predicted Actions: With customized #AI, Mews can now predict your next move and offer remarkable recommendations. Checking a guest in? Mews will automatically present room upgrade options to your guests, helping you #maximizerevenue.
2) Smart Search: Mews has implemented a full-fledged #virtualassistant, making it possible to chat directly with the system. We all know the stress that comes when you can’t find something, for instance a bill, or you simply have a question about the system. Well now, receptionists will never need to call their manager for help again!
3) Smart Tips: Mews aims to free up receptionists’ time so that they can focus on the personal aspect of #hospitality: the interaction with guests and delivering exceptional customer experiences. The system will now automatically process everything you need to know about your guests, providing precise tips exactly when you need it, allowing you to optimize #personalization!
And there’s more: Mews is currently working on a feature that will allow us, and our guests, to speak directly to the system. Incredible!
