My internship at Endeavour has been an incredible learning experience. As an Online Marketing Intern, I had the opportunity to immerse myself in the world of marketing and gain valuable skills and knowledge. I was based in one of their offices in the heart of Haarlem, the Netherlands, and was given a variety of tasks, from writing blog posts and creating content to optimizing websites and creating campaigns. We analysed websites from well-known Dutch brands like Vue Cinemas and Albert Heijn and created content to boost Endeavour’s social media channels. Working in such a creative environment taught me the importance of being flexible and being able to think on my feet. It also allowed me to really explore my own creativity and talents and see how this can be of value to a company. One of my most exciting tasks was to write a blog post for one of Endeavour’s clients. I conducted a thorough keyword analysis to figure out the most effective words to use, wrote the post with a clear target audience in mind and included a call-to-action. It was a great chance to use the skills I had gained during my SEO training. I also had the opportunity to put my SEA training to good use by analysing different brands and improving their ad campaigns. I got to delete expensive keywords that weren’t creating enough conversions, and also optimize the relevancy of the landing pages. Another one of my favourite assignments was to create a marketing strategy for Herôme. As I had affinity with the brand myself I really loved working on this assignment and created a fun new persona for the brand that could help them appeal to an entire new target audience, mainly younger girls, that they are now not reaching. The persona I created was called “the Herôme girl” and this girl always has perfectly manicured nails, loves selfcare, Pilates, Starbucks and TikTok. The image below shows the embodiment of “the Herôme girl”.
Overall, my internship at Endeavour has been an invaluable experience. I’ve learnt a lot about marketing and the importance of managing my time, as well as developing my creative, analytical and problem-solving skills. I have also made great friends and have learned what path I would like to go down career wise. As I did not enjoy the purely data-driven and analytical side of marketing as much as the creative side I will be aiming to find my first job as a junior marketeer in a more creative role. I have really learned that content marketing, copywriting and social media marketing are the fields where I thrive the most. I’m now much more confident in my ability to work in the marketing industry and can’t wait to continue my journey.
