Intern X Crocs: A Day In The Life of an Intern at Crocs

Hey there! I’m Antara Purohit, a third-year Communication Science student at the University of Amsterdam. For six months I had an amazing internship as a Brand Partnership intern at Crocs, and I thought I’d share a typical Tuesday at their Hoofddorp office with you all.

6:45 am

My alarm rings, though work doesn’t start till 9 am. I like taking my time in the mornings, so I set my alarms early to let myself start the day at my own pace.

7:44 am

I’ve had my oat milk latte, packed my bag, and I’m heading out the door to catch the tram to Lelylaan Station. I live in Amsterdam-West, so it’s about a 40-minute journey to the office. Fortunately, it’s just a short 7-minute walk from the station once I arrive.

8:30 am

I stroll through the sliding doors into the sleek office and ride the elevator up to the 5th floor, where the marketing teams for Crocs and HeyDude (a company acquired by Crocs) work. Tuesdays are usually lively with most people in the office, chatting away. If I come early enough, there are usually snacks in the corner that someone brought in — a common occurence after someone returns from a trip. Although I had coffee at home, I stop by the marketing coffee room for a quick shot of espresso with milk. After catching up on weekend stories, we all head to our desks, slip into our comfy Crocs, and dive into work.

9:00 am – 11:50 am

The day kicks off with calls and processing promotional orders for celebrities and influencers. This is done in the morning as the option for next-day delivery option ends at 12:30pm. So my main task is getting promotional orders approved and dispatched all before this time. I also participate in a bi-weekly call with our PR agency in France, discussing questions and upcoming plans. Once calls are done, I begin tasks assigned by my manager, particulary a project that involves me finding future partners for collaborations.

11:50 am – 1:00 pm

Lunchtime! The Crocs office has a spacious dining hall offering freshly made meals daily, with options reflecting various cuisines and plenty of vegetarian choices. On Tuesday, the food is either pasta or soy sauce chicken. We shut our laptops and take a break from work, chatting about weekend plans and whatever else comes up. Conversations often start with weekend plans and veer into random topics.

1:00 pm – 2:00 pm

After a hearty lunch with a quick dessert from the vending machine, it’s back to work. I focus on researching potential collaborations in the UK and putting together a presentation for my next one-on-one meeting with my manager

2:00 pm – 3:00 pm

Time for the weekly Marketing call, gathering teams from Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, Africa, and India. We review past successes and discuss ongoing projects. I’ve been more proactive in these meetings, presenting updates on upcoming collaborations to the teams.

3:00 pm – 5:00 pm

I return to my tasks, diving deeper into researching collaborations. This involves checking out Instagram profiles, conducting background checks on companies and individuals, and compiling findings into presentations.

5:00 pm

I pack my things, slip on my shoes, and say good evening to colleagues. Before leaving, I make a note of tasks for tomorrow, that way I can come to the office prepared for the next day!

I hope you enjoyed peeking into my day at Crocs. It’s a fantastic company to work for, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of the team!
