Wow, what a whirlwind of a week it’s been at my new internship with Oikocredit! Let me fill you in on all the exciting details and my initial impressions:
Day 1: The Journey Begins
I rolled out of bed, nerves and excitement bundled up together in my stomach.
Arrived at the Oikocredit headquarters, a stunning building in Amersfoort. It’s like a social impact fortress!
First impression: So many friendly faces! The welcoming smiles of the team put my nerves at ease.
Morning meeting time! I found myself in a room filled with enthusiastic colleagues who were all discussing their plans for the day. It felt like being part of a secret club.
Day 2: Dive into the Tasks
Got my official Oikocredit email and access to all the important systems. Feeling official!
Met my supervisor, the head of Communications, for a one-on-one chat. We talked about my role and what I hoped to achieve during my internship.
Joined a brainstorming session on improving the company’s social media presence. My ideas were actually considered—talk about feeling valued!
Day 3: Lunch & Laughs
Lunchtime! Oikocredit takes lunch seriously. The cafeteria is like a mini gourmet restaurant.
Met some amazing colleagues during lunch and shared some laughs. Turns out, they’re just as passionate about social impact as I am.
Joined a meeting with the head of Corporate Communications. Helped review some financial reports, feeling all grown-up and finance-savvy.
Day 4: Intranet Adventures
Met my big project: the new Intranet called “Oikoweb.” It’s like the Disneyland of internal communication platforms!
Shadowed the head of Internal Communications during a meeting about the Intranet’s development. SharePoint, here we come!
Day 5: Connecting the Dots
Another morning meeting, and now I feel like a regular!
Collaborated with the Inflow and Outflow business partners on communicating with external partners. I’m learning to juggle more tasks than I ever thought possible.
can’t believe it’s only been one week!
Overall, my first week at Oikocredit has been an amazing rollercoaster of learning and connecting. The team here is incredible, and I’m thrilled about the adventure ahead. Let’s see what the coming weeks bring!
