Branded by the largest media company in the Middle East, CN Traveller ME is the leading luxury travel magazine. When you walk in through the doors you will be mesmerised by the vibrant hues and the cheerful atmosphere. Over the span of just three months you will get the opportunity to develop and enhance numerous skills. But remember a creative spur is essential for any role within an editorial team. As an assistant editor, I engaged in several tasks. From, proof-reading, fact checking and research to writing and pitching ideas, this internship has got it all.

You will learn to write engaging articles that captures the attention of readers, while expressing your creative linguistic skills. Collaborate and interact with experienced professional and enhance your communication skills. The laid-back atmosphere at the company will allow you settle in quite swiftly. Keep in mind that extended hours, commitment and hard work can be expected when thinking about a creative career. But I promise you it’s worth it. If not for the experience do it for the fun! Working with a creative field will give you various opportunities to be part of events and meet exciting new people to grow your connections. I got opportunities to be part of events in which I got to broaden my network by meeting individuals from other magazines such as GQ, Cosmopolitan, Grazia, Timeout etc. Apart from the fun and experience, my internship came with an additional plus. Situated in the heart of Dubai, amidst the towering skyscrapers, you get to experience the Middle Eastern flare.

Unfortunately, the pandemic hit as a big disappoint resulting in spending nearly two months of my internship working from home. However, I was lucky to continue my internship and my colleagues continued to assist me in my learning experience. Although, my internship didn’t exactly pan out the way I wanted it to, I was glad I got to complete my internship period and my research. I believe that the remote working situation enabled me to grasp some additional communication skills and unbolted a new perspective to working.

Apart from the pandemic situation, I highly think that an internship in the creative media sector can provide you with a valuable learning experience for your career. Working at Conde Nast Traveller was so inspiring and it motivated me to pursue my career in the creative field. If you are in for a thrilling ride of fun, hard work and commitment this is definitely something for you. I would highly recommend this internship for those of you looking for excitement and something new every day.
