Hello, I’m Jennifer Wang, a third year Communication Science student at the University of Amsterdam. During my internship at bilibili, my main agenda in the mornings was to dive deeper into communicating with event organizers about events on the platform and double-checking product content and details. Delving into feedback and constantly checking the product line to make the ticketing experience the best possible. As an engaged user, ensuring that users have an enjoyable experience on bilibili is my ultimate goal.
In the work routine, during my lunch break, I hang out with the office cats, share experiences with my coworkers, relax, and recharge my batteries for the upcoming afternoon. In the afternoon, I coordinate with another team to ensure smooth processing of contracts and visas. Everything runs like clockwork, from accuracy of written content to responsible time coordination. Checking contract processes and synchronizing proposals with the legal team are crucial tasks, and daily updates ensure that the huge business unit and the legal department update each other on the same page.
Weekend overtime in Chinese companies is the elephant in the room. But for the first time, my level of commitment spilled over in preparation for my most impressive and very first exhibition. The passion of the team was evident in the way we poured our hearts and souls into every detail, from setup to fine-tuning. Despite the exhaustion, the camaraderie of the group transformed the hardship of overtime into a common victory.
Now I will talk specifically about the period of our group plunged into preparations for CHE. The first assignment is to gear up for a robot/hand puppet spectacle with online voting and an offline exhibition. Designing the offline exhibition layout became a creative playground for us. The canvas was vast, and we aimed to make it a visual feast for everyone attending. It wasn’t just about showcasing the talent but creating an immersive experience that would stay with the audience. The anticipation of their insights and expertise merging with the contestants’ creations fueled our passion for this project.
The on-site exhibitions were where the magic happened. Interacting firsthand with participants and witnessing the life breathed into their creations was a whole new level of exhilarating. The buzz, the energy, and the smiles exchanged – it was an experience that transcended the routine. This hands-on involvement, though demanding, made every bit of hard work worth it.
As I jot this down, the memories of mt internship are etched vividly. It wasn’t just about executing tasks; it was about being part of an unforgettable event that blended creativity, technology, and community spirit.
