Crafting connections and building a brand with the help of content creators
Are you intrigued by the dynamic world of modern marketing? Have you ever considered diving into the realm of influencer marketing? If so, let me share my enriching experience as an intern at Yepoda, a Berlin-based K-beauty skincare brand with an ever-increasing reach.
My interest drove me to explore the complexities of how companies interact with content creators and their managements from the get-go. As I got more involved in my position as an influencer marketing manager, I realized that I excel in relationship management and creative direction, skills that were highlighted by my colleagues. Having an open and honest communication flow internally helped me to understand my skill set and enhance abilities that needed improvement.
Throughout my internship, I gained valuable insights into the importance of platform-specific content on YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram. I realized that profitable collaborations could only flourish in combination with comprehending digital trends, the content creator’s perspective, and cultivating community involvement. This hands-on experience not only deepened my understanding of communication science but also provided first-hand revelations of the constantly changing field of digital marketing.
One of the standout aspects of my internship was the multicultural experience embedded in the daily work environment. Although I was part of the team responsible for the German market, I had the unique opportunity to embrace diversity and learn from different perspectives through weekly team meetings and casual lunch sessions with people from more than 15 different nationalities. This fostered a collaborative and inclusive atmosphere, making every workday an enriching experience. Recognizing the value of this, I wish to carry this to my next position and embrace interculturalism.
Looking at my internship from a bigger picture, I have to point out that one of the most exciting aspects of the internship was the opportunity to forge connections with both micro and mega content creators and their managements. This allowed me to build a network within the influencer community, outside of the company itself. It also made me realize what content creators can produce with their creativity and understanding that their enthusiasm for the products can ignite a wave of sales. Hence, I remembered why I find communication so appealing: Communication is the linchpin that fosters understanding, builds trust, and establishes lasting connections. It transforms complex concepts into relatable narratives, making businesses more approachable and engaging. Without the ability to convey messages clearly to your audience, even the most ingenious business model risks fading into obscurity.
I would recommend an internship as an Influencer Marketing Manager at Yepoda if you:
- are interested in connecting with individuals/managements in the social media realm
- want to work in a diverse team that is eager to explore the company’s possibilities
- are ready to proactively engage in team discussions and want to explore your creativity
