As a Content Marketing & Design Intern at Payments & Cards Network (PCN), every day was a new and exciting challenge. But if I had to choose one day of the week to describe my typical routine at the company, it would have to be a Thursday. Thursday’s were special, as we had a 4-day work week (no work on Friday’s), and many times our German Dach team would come from Berlin and join us for some drinks after work.
My Thursday would typically start at around 9 am with a warm greeting from the office dogs. As an animal lover, this was always a great start to cheer up my day. Afterwards, I would head to the kitchen to prepare myself a healthy oatmeal breakfast. Once fueled up, I would head to my desk and start by checking my emails and all of the PCN channels, such as LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, and Instagram. As a Content Marketing & Design Intern, it was also important for me to stay up to date with the latest industry news and trends.
Next, I would spend some time practicing my Adobe designing skills. This was an essential part of my role, as it allowed me to create visually appealing content for PCN’s marketing materials, social media channels, and website. From designing eye-catching banners to creating visually stunning infographics, every day was an opportunity for me to hone my design skills and create something new.
Throughout the day, I would also attend various meetings with different teams to discuss ongoing projects and to brainstorm new ideas. One particularly interesting meeting was focused on creating a new and improved podcast. As someone who is passionate about audio content, this was a particularly exciting project for me. During the meeting, we discussed everything from potential guests and topics to recording and editing techniques.
More towards the end of the day, after having already had an amazing lunch, it was time to unwind a little. At PCN, we have a great company culture that values work-life balance, and Thursdays were no exception. After work, I would often grab a beer with my colleagues and play multiple rounds of ping pong or pool. This was a great way to chill, bond with my colleagues, and blow off some steam after a busy day.
In conclusion, my experience at PCN was nothing short of amazing. As a Content Marketing & Design Intern, every day was an opportunity to learn something new, develop new skills, and contribute to a company that was passionate about what they do. And while Thursdays were a particular highlight, every day at PCN was something to look forward to. If you’re looking for an internship that puts people first, rewards you, and pushes you to be the best you can be, then PCN is the place for you.
