Welcome to my virtual tour where I will be taking you through a day in my life as a social media intern working at Danone Nutricia Campus (here on referred to as DNC). Working at DNC, I have the flexibility to work from home or at the office. However, since my preference is to work physically, I will be taking you guys through a day at the office. Get ready for a day of creativity and collaboration, with a hint of indulgence.
7:30am: Waking up from my slumber
My day starts of bright and early with an immediate cup of warm coffee, which is especially needed in this cold Dutch weather. I get ready and head to central station to make my way to Hoofddorp.
8:30am: Freshly baked goods
As I step into the office, the smell of fresh muffins and pastries greets me, marking the weekly Tuesday muffin morning at the office. Muffin mornings are one of the many delicacies of being a Danoner as you are met with an assortment of different baked goods, yogurts, and fruit. As I indulge on the sweet treat with another cup of steaming hot coffee, I catch up with the team. After getting nice and energized for the day, I am ready to start working.
9:30am: Meetings, meetings, and more meetings
The day unfolds with a combination of virtual and physical meetings, depending on whether you choose to join physically or remotely, ensuring everyone can connect and work in union. We have our daily check in to ensure everyone is well, and discuss daily tasks, strategies, and give project updates and feedback. These collaborations ensure everyone is aligned and on the same page, guaranteeing high levels of synergy throughout the team.
12:00pm: More food
The Hoofdoorp office is equipped with a large dining hall with an array of healthy and nutritious food, made freshly every day. We value lunchtime at Danone as it is not only about the delicious meals, but it is also a time where you can connect and have meaningful conversations with other fellow Danoners. During lunchtime, we usually eat as a team to further get to know one another, share stories, exchange ideas, and further strengthen our bond and sense of community.
1:00pm: Social media
As a social media intern, I have a plethora of duties dedicated to crafting DNC’s social media. These tasks include conceptualizing creative briefings, communicating with freelancers or creative agencies for the creation of the visuals, crafting captions to go with the posts, brainstorming content, and ensuring DNC has a dynamic online presence. This is my favourite part of the job as it allows me to be innovative and contribute to DNC’s brand image.
3:00pm: Afternoon meetings
At DNC, we are encountered with lots of different stakeholders, both internal and external to the organization. Through more meetings, it’s time to communicate with our various stakeholders and engage with our broader community.
5:00pm: Homebound
As the day comes to an end, I reflect on the tasks I had accomplished for the day and prepare myself for new challenges that may come tomorrow.
Hope you enjoyed learning about my day as a social media intern at DNC. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment working at such a diverse and dynamic organization. I would highly recommend anyone who is interested in social media campaigning and project management to check out this position.
