Woke up, fell out of bed. Dragged a comb across my head.
Found my way downtown and took the train.
And the metro too, I noticed I was late. *pff pff pff*
Finally arrived in Amsterdam-West.
The day will start, and it looks as such:
Just starting up, every morning got to say hi.
I don’t know but today seems pretty normal.
Got to make a day plan, daily.
And we also make a week plan, weekly.
I got my work on but didn’t stress out.
Finally got a call from a meeting I had to check out.
Planned it in for later as I had to write.
Write a manual for new managers joining the company.
I got to go because I got me a meeting.
And if I hit the switch, I can make my mic mute.
Meeting went well, discussed some plans.
Looking in my calendar, some more work in sight.
And everything is alright.
I got a beep from the team, and they say it’s lunchtime.
Called up my colleagues and I’m asking them:
“Where are we getting lunch today?”
Finally got back and I’m working:
This week, we have to get some e-mails out.
I talked to my colleague, and we made them.
After checking, tomorrow we can send them.
Helped out a colleague with some problems.
Didn’t even get no trouble with the managers.
Because we googled the problems,
and sent solutions through WhatsApp.
I got a quick coffee and played some table tennis.
Finally went back to my desk and I had to check if
everything was on schedule.
Put a finger on my keyboard, pressed some keys and now I’m typing.
The day had just begun.
But now it’s almost done and I’m finishing some work.
I just need to do some writing.
But I will be back this time tomorrow.
I’m writing on, writing on, because this project really matters.
Almost too late, it’s 4:45.
Jeepers cripes, it’s almost time. I have so much more to write.
Goodbye everybody, it’s almost time to go.
Got to share in Slack what I did today.
It is almost time.
I sometimes stay a few minutes longer when I’m in the flow.
Please allow me to excuse myself,
it’s finally time for today.
I’ve been around for a long, long day.
Wrote almost a chapter and some e-mails.
And I was around when lunchtime came.
Where I ate with my teammates.
Made darn sure that everything
was on schedule and properly made.
Have a nice evening, hope you enjoyed your day.
And now I will be getting back on the train.
An internship is beset on all sides by the inequities of the employer and the tyranny of evil customers. Blessed is he, who in the name of self-development and education finishes an internship. For he is truly an awesome student and worthy of a mediocre internship compensation.
