What is Bynder?
Don’t worry. I had no idea either. During my interview, when they asked me what I think they do – I had no clue. It took me somewhere around 3 weeks to get the general gist of what they do. Thankfully, they have a Bynder academy – where you learn everything about them, all the techy terms and all the fun stuff!
Throughout the autumn of 2019, I was completing my internship at Bynder as a Digital Marketing Intern. Bynder focuses on providing a digital asset management (DAM) system, that is an internal tool within a company in order to store assets and help the marketing and creative teams to access all files at all times. It is a B2B (business to business) company and is considered to be a global leader in the DAM industry.
So what did I actually do?
As the title of the role is quite broad, so was my position and role in the marketing team. I was mostly working on three main areas of marketing: Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Search Engine Advertising (SEA) and Email Marketing. With all these roles, I was responsible for campaign creation and production, creating reports and conducting data analysis as well as helping with different ongoing projects. One of the most proud projects I worked on was OnBrand (one of the biggest European marketing conferences), for which I produced and sent out all marketing related emails. I also had the opportunity to attend this conference by which I was super impressed as the speakers were very interesting to listen to, the venue was extraordinary and overall – it felt amazing to be part of such cool project and outcome.
Did I learn anything?
This internship taught me how to manage my time and how to take responsibility for my actions. As per every internship, there is uncertainty that definitely can play a role, which will make you feel less confident in our opinions or decisions. This internship at Bynder definitely taught me how to take lead and be confident in my work, my opinions and being comfortable enough to disagree with individuals that have higher-up positions than I do.
As a company, Bynder is very trusting of its employees – therefore, flexibility in working hours and weekly communication with one’s manager are big factors in everyone’s working day. That is why I focused my research report on these two factors and how that affects the level of motivation Bynder employees have. I collected my data through a survey I have built on Qualtrics. Afterwards, used SPSS to analyze my data. The results turned out to be significant, and a summary of them will be sent to Bynder with which they can implement and make even better improvements towards increasing the level of motivation of Bynder employees.
Should you apply?
All in all, Bynder is a great company to complete your internship. Not only do you have the ability to make great connections with people, you also find friends that you are able to keep in touch with after your internship. Furthermore, you have the ability to learn a great amount of different skills – even though they are not necessarily in your job description. Bynder employees will listen to your needs and if you show motivation and the desire to work, the results that you will leave with at the end of the internship will be more than anything that you expected!
Good luck if you’re applying, and if you have any questions – I’ll be glad to answer!
