My Flight through the Internship at Yource

This semester, I was given an amazing opportunity by Yource to be their Marketing Intern. Throughout my internship, I was given a chance to work and get an insight to the marketing field, with focus on digital marketing. I was able to gain valuable experience, expend my horizons, gain valuable knlodage and new skillset through various assigned tasks. I saw how great of an impact the company’s online presence is crucial to its growth and expansion.  Lastly, I learned a lot about myself and next steps I would like to take to develop further into my professional career. But before I dive into more personal matters, let me tell you a bit about a “Day in my life as an Intern at Yource”.

On a day-to-day basis, the company’s website was my main focus. I was responsible for creating an informative and eye-catching content to reach potential customers. I worked on improving the landing pages, news articles, and blog posts not only in English but also in Polish – my mother tongue. Surprisingly enough writing in Polish from scratch was proven to be more challenging than I expected. Nonetheless, both translating and creating such content in Polish and English, as well as being able to work on my own articles provided me with insightful knowledge into the industry and reality behind it. Friendly advice: never trust a website that is not an official or verified source.

Moreover, I had the pleasure of working in relatively small team; hence, I had direct contact with the head of marketing and general manager of the company. My assigned tasks came directly from them during our day-to day stand up meetings. Such an opportunity taught me how to communicate concisely and effectively to get my message across without taking up most of the meeting time.  Furthermore, I was able to see first-hand the collaboration of a team and importance of cooperation between people to further benefit the company and accomplish great goals together.

Lastly, I have learned that digital marketing, more precisely content writing is not my thing, and it is not something I would like to spend the rest of my career doing. Content writing can be monotonous and frankly boring, especially since writing was never my strongest suit. However, I appreciate having the chance of being able to do so as that only reassured me with the next step, I want to take within my studies in order to develop into direction, I think would fit better with my preferences and skillset – specifically economics. Hence, next semester I will be doing an Economic Transition Minor at UvA.
