Stepping into the corporate creative industry was a thrilling and unexplored experience for me. Having never worked in a company, I was not sure what to expect when I walked through the doors of Release Rebels for the first time. Creativity, opportunities and innovation could be sensed in every desk I could spot. The enthusiasm I felt that day was overwhelming, and it accompany me till my last day as a RR intern. I was not completely sure what my role would have been at that company, but after a nice conversation with my supervisor I got assigned some tasks and the journey did officially begin.
One of the main aspects that I enjoyed the most about my internship was my company’s colleagues. I learned so much from their experiences in the creative industry. From the designers to the copyright team, I was slowly starting to understand what could be visually pleasing in designing a product while also keeping your style and identity in designing it. The copyright team tough me how to communicate the intended message with the right words, to ensure an advertised product would be successful. This last aspect is also something they taught me to adapt in internal communication as well. When working in teams, is very important to learn to communicate your ideas in a clear and concise way. This will allow not only your team to see your point better, but it would also help you see your redefine your idea.
Learning how to respond to feedback as well is a skill that my experience at RR taught me. It happened different times that my ideas were not completely in line with what RR would want. But that’s okay, as that was the only way that made me reflect on some ideas and come up with new better ones! Accepting criticism and working on it is a great lesson I learned during my time as a communication and marketing intern.
In conclusion, my time as an intern in a communication company was an adventure filled with learning, growth, and inspiration. I was able to see firsthand the shapes creativity can get, seeing it transforming itself from just an idea to a tangible product. Being surrounded by many professionals is an experience I would never be grateful enough for, as the mentorship they give me is priceless. From discovering and observing, this experience left an indelible mark on my creative spirit. A mark that I think I would like to discover even in more depth in a not-too-far professional future.
