Hello everyone, my name is Andrea and like many communication science students, I recently completed an internship. In this blog post, I would like to share my experience of finding an internship and offer some advice that I believe would be useful, as well as discuss my experience at the company where I completed my internship.
My journey to finding an internship was quite interesting as I quickly secured a remote internship at a company in another country. However, my excitement was short-lived as my supervisor abruptly resigned during my second week. This unexpected turn of events left me stressed and disappointed as I suddenly found myself without an internship.
Fortunately, I had previous work experience at Stone&Bridges, an Amsterdam-based company, so I reached out to them to inquire about any potential internship opportunities in their strategy and communication department. This turned out to be an excellent decision, and I thoroughly enjoyed my internship experience at the company.
From October 2022 until January 2023 I was an intern in the strategy and communication department which was an amazing experience and helped me learn so many things.
In hindsight, I would advise fellow students to always have a backup plan, as unexpected changes can occur at any time. Additionally, it’s essential to remember that everything happens for a reason, and sometimes, a seemingly negative experience can lead to something better!
