Another type of workday

At fonQ there is the working environment that every employee should help in every aspect of the company. Therefore it is also encouraged to help 1 or 2 days in the warehouse during the busy periods of the year. That is the reason that I have stood two whole days (even one Sunday) in the warehouse, picking orders and packing products for the customers that ordered something at fonQ. I saw another side of the company and realised that it is quite hard work, especially physically. While we are sitting the whole day behind our desks, the people in the warehouse are running around the warehouse the whole day. While I was not so excited for these two days at first, I actually learned a lot from it. I saw the whole process of how an order is being incorporated and eventually ends up at the front door of a customer. This made me also realise that returning packages so often results in a lot of work for the people in the warehouse and people treat the products they receive in a careless manner. All in all, a very interesting and educational two days for me and I am glad that I signed up for these days.
