I got the chance to perform my internship at the brand ‘NONAT Atelier’ which is a cruelty-free, ethical outwear brand. The collection includes a range of products that are done from vegan materials in order to achieve a %100 cruelty-free brand vision. NONAT’s products are sustainable alongside its luxurious quality and design which benefit the customer, the brand and also the environment. Basically, it is a win-win for everyone right? Especially me as the social media manager and marketing director of the brand. With NONAT’s brand vision, my daily activities where I have to create social media content, plan out possible influencer partnerships, coming up with creative marketing strategies for products and launches of new collections became so much more approachable and achievable as I kind of have a starting point already if that makes sense. Because they are a brand belonging to sustainable fashion, I already have something to capture the interest of the target audience.
As a communication science student, it was an immensely special experience for me as I got to observe the extent of diversity and dept within the marketing world taking place in social media platforms. I always knew how social media is a huge platform for brands to sell products as I am also a customer myself, however till now, I did not know that it was this affective and deep. It is so interesting how one post could increase the sales of a product just by adding interesting elements, colors, social media trends to it. I myself observed this effect that what I created increased the product sales of NONAT which is a very proud moment for me.
I would like to share some of my daily tasks and examples for these influencer collaborations during my internship period. I would have weekly meetings with my host supervisor who is also the CEO and owner of NONAT. She is one of the kindest souls I have met and would like to share my gratitude towards her with you, anyone reading this blog. We would discuss my communication and marketing plans for the week and the social media posts I plan on publishing that week such as reels etc. There were changes to these posts from time to time however, I would always tell her so she is aware of what is going on and the brand moves forward as a ‘whole’ rather than everyone doing whatever comes up to their mind. After a while, I would share a ‘Google Doc’ with her so she could go over it on her own time as she would gain more trust towards my decisions every day. I would edit content and include specific features of NONAT, social media trend, sound/music that is popular at that time to as it would increase the interest of customers.
Also, by forming partnerships with social media influencers ranging from fashion influencers to travel influencers, the products would attract more interest. These influencers are usually micro influencers who have a specific follower audience which also impacts the brand in a good way since they have a ‘community’ feeling, even though they are not as big. From time to time, macro influencers would also collaborate with NONAT which of course also is quite special to perform for a brand. For example, there was an influencer who did a campaign with NISSAN and she wore one of NONAT’s coats in that campaign, which is a nice example. Overall, I am very lucky to have experience an internship with a brand with character like NONAT Atelier.
