First blog post: start of my internship

The start of my internship at fonQ! On Monday morning at 10:00 I was expected at the fonQ head office in Utrecht to get to know the place where I will be working and pick up my belongings as a laptop and key. When these steps were finished it was time to get my own place in the office, in between my other colleagues of Online Marketing and next to the other intern of Online Marketing. It was nice to sit next to the other intern, she instantly helped me with everything and we came to the conclusion that we would be working at the company for the same period of time. On my first day, it was mostly about reading and hearing a lot of information and getting to know the company by reading the brand book and its core values. The first week included meetings with colleagues and getting to know them and also the programs I had to work with. I got assigned to my weekly tasks and received elaborate explanation about every part of it. I had to get used to the long workdays from 8:30 to 17:00 o’clock which were mainly behind my desk and thus also different for my physical health. My host supervisor challenged me with several tasks and wanted to get to know me as well by assigning tasks with a deadline. In this way I would have to show if I was able to work under pressure and finish all my tasks on time. This was fortunately the case and at the end of the week I had finished everything that was assigned to me. Luckily, I instantly noticed that fonQ is a flexible and hybrid company where we are also allowed to work from home. I like the combination of working at home and going to the office, it makes my week a bit more varied and helps me in not having to travel to Utrecht every day very early in the morning :).
